Dakota Fanning refuses to take her success for granted because she knows it may not last forever.

Dakota Fanning feels insecure in her career.

The 16-year-old actress – who shot to fame aged just seven in’I Am Sam’ – never wants to stop appearing in movies, but knows she can’t take anything for granted.

She said: “I know this is what I want to do for the rest of my life but I think that everything can end tomorrow.

“You have to live your life for the moment and not take it for granted. I don’t think you ever feel completely secure.”

The’Runaways’ star feels lucky for the opportunities she has had but still has ambitions to work with certain people.

She explained: “I’d love to work with Jodie Foster. I really admire her, her career and what she’s done. I can only hope to be just a little bit of how great she is.

“I feel so lucky to have had some of the opportunities that I’ve had. I know some people aren’t that lucky, to be at the right place at the right time or do the right movie.” [Source]

The 16-year-old actress – who portrays cruel vampire Jane in the blood-sucking movie franchise – admits she liked being able to transport herself into a nasty character.

She said: “She definitely takes pleasure in using her power which is inflicting pain on others, which is not a normal thing! So yeah it was cool to get to transform myself into more of an evil character which I haven’t done before.” [Source]

Twilight actress Dakota Fanning is starring in a new Stand Up To Cancer public service announcement.

The 16 year old, who plays evil Volturi member Jane in the vampire movie series, said in the advert that the cause is close to her heart.

She said: ‘Pretty much everyone is affected in some way by cancer, whether it’s yourself or a loved one or a friend. I myself have lost both of my dad’s parents to cancer.

‘My grandmother passed away when I was four, so it’s something I’ve been affected by for pretty much as long as I can remember.’

A Stand Up To Cancer fundraising event will take place on September 10. [Source]

Dakota Fanning says she would be lost if she didn’t make it as a successful movie star — because she doesn’t know how to do “anything else” other than act.

The starlet says she feels her most comfortable when she’s on screen. “I’ve realized that I don’t know how to do anything else,” she said. “Acting is the only thing I feel most myself.”

Dakota also admitted she’s “really nervous” about learning how to drive. “I have my permit to drive but I am only just starting out driving,” she said. “I’m really nervous about it. I can drive along the flats now but not busy roads or the freeway. I have a long way to go before I’m brave enough for that.” [Source]
